This tutorial is used to assist in the development funtoo servers used for internet cafe and school. This servers includes internet sharing , local dns, and data sharing.
WAN (Wide Area Network)
LAN (Local Area Network)
WAN is a network that is connected to the Internet. In this example, using Indosat M2 with VSATs which have 8 public ip and one of them used to the server (220.127.116.11). WAN connected to the network device eth0, in the configuration file /etc/conf.d/netif.eth0
# nano /etc/conf.d/netif.eth0 template="interface" IP=18.104.22.168 NM=255.255.255.0 GW=22.214.171.124 NS1=126.96.36.199 NS2=188.8.131.52 # ln -s /etc/init.d/netif.tmpl /etc/init.d/netif.eth0 # rc-update add netif.eth0 boot # rc
LAN is a network that is connected to the local network. The local network is connected to a network device eth1, in the configuration file /etc/conf.d/netif.eth1.
# nano /etc/conf.d/netif.eth1 template="interface" IP=192.168.1.1 NM=255.255.255.0 # ln -s /etc/init.d/netif.tmpl /etc/init.d/netif.eth1 # rc-update add netif.eth1 boot # rc
The router allows you to connect 2 (two) or more networks. The server will also be supporting the NAT (Network Address Translation), to connect the internet with a local network.
