Lanmap is a utility to generate visual representations of what happens on your network. Lanmap passively listens to traffic to generate an image.
# emerge lanmap
As lanmap requires access to hardware it must be run as root.
# lanmap -i eth0 -T png -o /var/www/localhost/htdocs/
# lanmap -i wlan0 -T png -o /var/www/localhost/htdocs/
The resulting image will be located at http://localhost/lanmap.png &
the official documentation suggests using -o /tmp/ to output to

/etc/conf.d configurations to define interfaces & start up.
