As many of you have read recently, we have brought MATE into our main tree. Which can be added via profile mix-in. It is simple to do so:

<console>
No, it shouldn't be a sub-page of net-tools. --[[User:Drobbins|Drobbins]] ([[User talk:Drobbins|talk]]) 22:19, February 22, 2015 (UTC)
# ##i## eselect profile set-flavor funtoo/1.0/linux-gnu/flavor/desktop
nope, it shouldn't be part of net-tools package wiki page. Main reason of describing hostname is because Funtoo has special design for it, i.e automatic  generation of /etc/hosts for example People keep asking about it, so we need to reflect that.  a hostname command, indeed is part of net-tools, it can be added in wiki.
# ##i## eselect profile add  funtoo-overlay:funtoo/1.0/linux-gnu/mix-ins/mate
# ##i## emerge -uDNa @world
# ##i## emerge mate-base/mate
</console>
