Summary: This package installs the Whiskermenu plugin for xfce4, which serves as an alternative to the default application menu.

Whiskermenu

The Whiske Menu homepage states that: "Whisker Menu is an alternate application launcher for Xfce. When you open it you are shown a list of applications you have marked as favorites. You can browse through all of your installed applications by clicking on the category buttons on the side. Top level categories make browsing fast, and simple to switch between. Additionally, Whisker Menu keeps a list of the last ten applications that you’ve launched from it."

Install

To install Whisker Menu, emerge it:

# emerge xfce4-whiskermenu-plugin

After Whisker Menu has been emerged, we must enable it. To do this:

  1. Right click on the panel that you want to add Whisker Menu to, select panel, and then panel preferences.
  2. Click on the items tab.
  3. Click the plus button on the right-hand side of the window to add a new plugin to the panel.
